Following my own heart attack in 2021, I was extremely fortunate to receive rehabilitation care from a team of amazing nurses at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis. What I learned was that while there is much focus on prevention (as their should be) the recovery post-heart attack is equally important both physically and mentally.
In the time since, we've taken our own small steps to support raising more than $31,000 to do date. These dollars will support more than 100 patients' recovery including transportation to and from rehab, gym access post 3-month paid insurance cycles, and continued training/education for nurses. We are just beginning.
